Juggy Sohal is a creative, dynamic, south asian writer, director and producer, whose aim is to diversify the film industry on and off screen through sharing the rich history of untold stories from around the world.
His first producing credit was a music themed short film with SBTV and O2 titled 'Headliners', before he went on the self fund his first two shorts where he took on the role of director, 'Colour Me Brown' which explored racism and 'Ticking That Box', a film with a cast of ten that delved into diversity in the workplace. The short had a radio premiere on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, featured on BBC Upload and had four official film festival selections.
Sohal went on to co create, write, cast and produce award winning short film 'KAUR', which tells the story of a British Sikh girl who decides to wear a turban against her fathers wishes. The short starred Nina Wadia and had a six month run on ITVX, before being acquired by Netflix, where it is now streaming. 'KAUR' generated high profile global press coverage with TV spots on Good Morning Britain, BBC World News, CTV'S Etalk and Channel 4 News, over 40 BBC radio interviews and print features in The Independent, Variety and Deadline.
Juggy has self funded his new short film series, which explores the two parallels of how one moment can change everything. One is a comedy and the other a drama, which he created to showcase his versatility as a writer, director and producer, with the cast including Chizzy Akudolu, Samuel Small and Louise Redknapp.
