Juan is a San Francisco-based filmmaker and critic dedicated to the power of community-focused storytelling. Originally from San Diego County, his passion for the medium began in high school at Patriot Productions, where he developed a dual interest in technical filmmaking and rigorous film criticism. Drawing from his immigrant background, Juan creates work that highlights unique perspectives from underrepresented communities, ensuring that often-overlooked narratives are brought to the forefront.
Juan’s versatile portfolio spans commercial production, documentaries, music videos, and fictional narratives. He holds an Associate of Arts in Cinema from Palomar College, as well as a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Cinema from San Francisco State University.
