I'm a writer-performer, filmmaker and comedian. The first stage of my career was focused on live comedy and making solo shows for the Edinburgh Fringe, including Joz Norris Is Dead. Long Live Mr Fruit Salad, which won the Comedians' Choice Award for Best Show at the Fringe in 2019 and was also nominated for the Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality and the Chortle Award for Best Music & Variety Act. I also made Blink, one of the Evening Standard's Top 20 comedy shows of 2022, and You Build The Thing You Think You Are, a feature film adaptation of a live show abandoned due to the Covid pandemic, which was hailed by the Guardian and the Telegraph as one of the comedy highlights of 2020.
In recent years my focus has shifted towards scripted narrative comedy for radio, film and TV. Ed & Joz's Heist Movie, a crime caper collaboration with Ed Aczel, was produced as a non-broadcast pilot by Tiger Aspect and subsequently was an Official Selection at numerous film festivals worldwide, and I have created, written and starred in several narrative programmes for BBC Radio 4, including the sketch/stand-up special A Small Talk On Small Talk and the original sitcom The Dream Factory, co-written by Miranda Holms, and chosen as a critics' choice in the Observer, the Times, the Telegraph and the Mail on Sunday.
My other short films and webseries include The Girl Whisperer, co-written by Ralf Little, and The Baby, co-written by Lucy Pearman, both of which were nominated for several awards at festivals worldwide. My latest short is Dog House, which I am submitting to festivals for their 2024 programmes.
