Joyce Lee is a photographer and director based in Los Angeles. She received her B.F.A. in Photography from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. After graduating, Joyce was selected as a finalist at the Hyères Festival of Fashion & Photography, a competition now in its 39th year which recognizes emerging voices in contemporary photography.
Since then, she has continued to develop her dynamic use of color, light, and thoughtful composition that has caught the attention of clients ranging from Hermès to The New York Times to Google. With a focus on narrative and realism in still life photography, Joyce’s work aims to blur the line between found and created moments.
Her first short-length film, Map of the Stars, blends her photographic vernacular with motion to weave nostalgia and modern themes. It aims to be at once a celebration and a commentary of the golden era of Hollywood.
