Jovana Marković was born in Belgrade in 1995. She attended the Art School “Tehno Art” in Belgrade in 2014, and later graduated from the „Faculty of Media and Communication” at the Film section of the department of Digital Arts, in Belgrade in 2019.
She is a screenwriter, director and editor of the short film “Till Tomorrow“ which was made in 2017 and premiered at the Cultural Centre of Belgrade, and was later selected for the annual exhibition of the Faculty. As a student, she participated in various workshops and seminars within film festivals (Festival of Auteur Film Belgrade, Alternative Film and Video Festival…) .
During her studies, she started working for the marketing company “Communis”, at the department for production, where she worked on the realisation of marketing campaigns and commercials. Since 2019, she has been working as an Assistant Director on TV shows “The Clan”, “The Family” and “Bad Blood”, all broadcast on RTS (Serbian National Broadcaster).
In 2021, she graduated with the short film “Dog and the Wind” which was supported by the Film Centre Serbia. The film has started its festival life in March 2021.
She is currently working on the development of a new short film. Her future plans are to gain enough experience by working on set and directing short films so that she can make her first feature.
