Joshua Reeves is a Manchester, England-based filmmaker, who has been writing, directing, and producing scripted film projects for over 10 years. His work often focuses on issues of identity, both individual and social. He is interested in those moments when bigger political and social issues become personal. His films interrogate how this affects a person’s psyche and impact the world around them. Joshua enjoys biopics or stories based on real-life events.
Joshua has written a trilogy of short films centered around the theme of contemporary black identity. The first Marcus, currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video, explores a playful conversation between a young couple about inspirational historical figure Marcus Garvey. It was an ambitious film that was shot in one continuous take.
