Joshua D. Maley is an award-winning screenwriter, director, and author. He is best known for his award-winning short film, 415 and his forthcoming feature films, The Way of Seeming and Unburied.
Maley developed a passion for writing and the creative arts after meeting drama director Keith Taylor in high school. After participating in a number of Mr. Taylor's productions, Maley decided he wanted to write and direct his own. "Beyond the Storm", Maley's first produced work, debuted at his alma mater in 1998. A follow-up, "Dragon's Wrath", debuted the following year. The play was also taken on several road trips, ranging from Pittsburgh, PA to Toronto, Ontario.
While his creative pursuits took a backseat for the next decade, Maley indulged when he could, producing Eros is Thanatos in 2004 and writing dozens of screenplays in the interim. In 2008, he attended Point Park University, followed by Full Sail University, in pursuit of his screenwriting aspirations. During those years, he wrote and directed four short films: Dear Santa, In Spirit, Occupied, and Time Between.
In 2012, Maley began production on a web series, Shepard. In 2015, he founded his production company, Grimm Sleeper Productions, with the purpose of creating unique horror films that marry classic sensibilities with modern stories and compelling characters. Under this umbrella, he wrote and directed his award-winning short film, 415.
Maley is currently working on Grimm Sleeper Productions' first feature film, Unburied, as well as his next short. He has also released his first work short fiction, The Unquiet Grave, available on Amazon.
