I’m a writer, director, and criminal defense lawyer based in Utah, where I tell stories rooted in justice, identity, and resilience.
Joshua Baron is a Utah-based writer/producer, and criminal defense attorney whose creative work explores themes of justice, identity, and transformation. As a lawyer, he’s spent the past two decades in courtrooms defending people at their lowest moments. Those experiences have shaped his deep belief in redemption and the dignity of the individual. His films are grounded in emotional realism and often center around youth, moral dilemmas, and underdogs finding their voice.
Josh is the founder of SB Legal, a thriving criminal defense firm, and a father of twelve children—nine adopted through foster care. These personal and professional experiences give him a rare perspective on the complexities of human behavior, the limits of the justice system, and the quiet heroism of everyday people. His stories are character-driven, with a focus on emotional subtext and subtle transformation.
