Director Statement
I am a multi-award-winning filmmaker, cinematographer, writer, director & musical artist working across film, television, & digital spaces.
My work lives in a world of meta surrealism, dream logic, occultism & “weird fiction,” drawing heavily from 90s&2000s pop culture—where analog to digital textures, a promised future that never arrived, absurd humor, & emotional expressionism meet.
I’m interested in stories that blur the line between reality and fantasy: familiar worlds altered just enough to reveal something strange & unique.
Whether I’m writing scripts, shaping images with lights & shadows, or designing soundscapes, I approach each project as a puzzle—guided more by mood, rhythm, & creativity rather than fictional boundaries.
My visual language blends bold colors, deep shadows, nostalgic aesthetics, & cinematic craft, while my sound work explores atmosphere, emotion, & play.
Alongside narrative & commercial work, I use social media as an extension of my creative practices—a space for colorful imagery, industry satire & humor that reflects both love for & critique of film & tv culture.
Across all formats, my goal is to entertain, inspire, & invite audiences into worlds that feel surreal, uncanny, & strangely familiar. -jjp
