José Velasco is a screenwriter, born in the chaos of La Paz, Bolivia. Although he has always considered himself a reader, he came to writing by accident: one sleepless night, he decided to write his first story. He studied Communication and has written and directed several student short films, some of which were selected for national festivals and won competitions. He trained in screenwriting at Vancouver Film School, where he received the Best Script Award and contributed to the narrative development of a horror video game.
Back in Bolivia, he wrote and produced documentary pieces, animated fiction, and after the pandemic, he shot two more short films: Nostalgia and Empty Hands, which were selected for festivals such as the Dreamers of Dreams Film Festival and the Almería Western Film Festival. During the same period, he published a story in a horror anthology, 19 Horror Stories, with Parc Editores.
He currently lives in Spain, where he is working on a feature film and a short story anthology.
