John W. Sutherlin, PhD has been making films since college. Mainly, he has directed and produced environmentally or socially conscious films. The film FREEMAN (2024) has won more than 38 international awards and been seen on 5 continents. The Monte Carlo Film Festival awarded it the Humanitarian Award at the Angel Awards Ceremony.

His foray into comedy has been part of his life for more than 30 years. A frequent speaker, Roast Master, and social critic, Dr. Sutherlin brings an unusual sense of humor to ordinary life. He starred in the film Butch's Block (2022), which was highly praised in Comedy Film Festivals for its dark, ironic twists.

Dr. Sutherlin was born in El Dorado, Arkansas, and has lived throughout Louisiana since 1986.
