I wrote and produced my first film in 1992, in Galway in Ireland. Called "The Claddagh Ring" it was a short drama shot on SVHS. Got some international recognition via the then Eutelsat network screened on satellite across Europe. This was before the internet and you tube arrived.
I then followed this with two more shot films based in Galway: "Pandora's box"(1994) and "Eve"(1995). Again, these films were broadcast on the Eutelsat network.
I then set up links with various community TV stations in the USA and we shared films and TV shows once you tube got going, using video conferencing to administer the links. I was by this time teaching film and TV production for Plymouth University and Exeter College. This took me up to around 2006 with many cross cultural and cross border TV magazine shows with a sister Media College in Rennes in France, and began working with the NHS in the Devon to produce training films. I then developed my own you tube channel making movies/ pop videos and documentaries for clients.
In 2014 I set up links with Prague Film School and produced a number of short films in Prague with director Dean Ferris. Tempus Vernum (2016) was screened in
Prague in 2017.
In 2017 I helped set up Phlixa Productions with Producer Lynda Reynolds Smith and accountant Stephan Bouloux. We focussed on film drama and working with mature people who would like to be involved in film. "Santa Arrest"(UK 17 mins) and "Time to Talk"(UK 3mins) were produced in 2017. "Aperture" (Uk 10mins) was our first production in 2021 with Dean Ferris, and in 2023, The Wytches Vendetta (UK 25mins).
