Joel Zeiser is a self-shooting documentary director based in Dublin, originally from Germany. His work is observational, focused on communities and single characters, trying to capture raw emotions and let the audience delve into a new world.

His short documentary Two Wheels One Job won Best Short Documentary at the Red Movie Awards 2025, the Sevilla Indie Film Festival 2025, and the Trail Beyond Film Festival in Los Angeles. His 45-minute documentary Mjolnir, about Ireland's adaptive mountain bike community, has just started its festival run with a Media Awards nomination. He is currently in post-production on More Than a Game (Telavi, Georgia) and in pre-production on his first feature, The Freedom Sport, about the first GAA club in Palestine.

He shoots, records sound and edits his own films, owning his full kit and working in DaVinci Resolve. He speaks native German, fluent English, and basic French and Italian.
