Joaquin Perocillo, a Digital Film graduate from Mapúa University - Makati, hails from Cavite but lived in Cebu City for 11 years. His filmmaking journey began in Cebu, leading to involvement in various short film productions. While at Mapúa, he co-founded H288 Films and Kuro-Kuro Productions. Notably, he composed music for "Cut/Off" a short film that bagged awards at Sinepiyu XIV 2022 including Best Music. He also co-wrote the screenplay and composed music for "Maudi Nga Arapaap (Last Dream)," a Cinemalaya 2023 Shorts Finalist. His short documentary thesis film, Cinebuano, is a finalist at BINISAYA Shorts 2023. He wants to see and be part of the movement toward a Philippine Cinema that is open to all, where every language and culture in different regions is given the opportunity to be properly represented.
