João Rebocho was born in Vila Franca de Xira in 2000.

He graduated in Arts and Humanities from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon in 2022 and is currently studying for a master's degree in History at the same institution. He is developing his master's thesis on the relationship between cinema and the liberation war in Mozambique.

Between 2019 and 2021 he was cultural programmer at the Olga Campos Art Gallery and was part of the organization of the 20th edition of the World Animation Festival, which took place in Amarante.

He is dedicated to writing and has published poetry, essays and prose in academic journals. In 2023, he launches his first book "Capitão e a casa do Doutor Consciência" (Captain and the house of Doctor Conscience) and gets closer to the youth audience, with whom he has also been working recently.

In 2024, he made his debut with his first short film "Um Tango Na Casa Dois", in which he tried to show the points of union
between two people who share a family bond and live together. It seeks to observe and analyze their routines, habits and
question the situation of memory and time in the generational confrontation that separates them.
