Jimena Larraguivel is a multi-passionate Mexican artist based in England. She completed a BA in Education at Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City, a BA in Drama at University of Saskatchewan in Canada, and an MA in Philosophy of Education at the Institute of Education in London, graduating with Distinction from all.
Jimena has primarily worked as an actor though in recent years she’s become a children’s author, poet and film director. She’s particularly interested in exploring clown in film. Jimena was commissioned for her first short-film SPIRALLING by Nosocomial Health Science Festival in London where she discovered her passion for a strong visual approach. She then wrote, produced and directed a smartphone clown experimental short-film called HELADO which was submitted to different film festivals winning the Rookie Award at the International Mobile Film Festival in San Diego, USA, in 2024.
Jimena is the writer, producer and director of ONE THING YOU CAN DO. This is the first time she directs other people and collaborates with a bigger team. Although passionate and determined to share this story which directly responds to the chaos of the world nowadays, having a brilliantly talented and generous cast and crew willing to jump into this artistic endeavor is for her the biggest honour and privilege about this whole adventure.
