Jenny is an Assistant Professor of Film Production at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Jenny’s scripts and films tell relevant twenty-first century stories with memorable and engaging characters. Jenny is a strong advocate for female representation both in front of and behind the camera. Her female-centered films and screenplays offer believable characters and unique plots. Her films have screened and won in over 38 festivals, including festivals in Mexico, Peru, Austria, Canada, and Switzerland.
In the United States, Jenny’s films have been showcased at the Central Florida Film Festival, Best Horror Shorts Film Festival, WPRN Women’s International Film Festival, and The Cutting Room International Film Festival.
Jenny’s Drama, Comedy, Sci-Fi, and Horror scripts have been honored at several prestigious film festivals. These include the WPRN Women’s International Film Festival, Summer in the South Film Festival, and FilmQuest. Jenny’s work received recognition at The New York Science Fiction Film Festival. It was also acknowledged by the ScreenCraft Film Fund and Coverfly’s Red List. Additionally, she received honors from The Richmond International Film Festival. Her feature screenplay, Monster Girl, a coming-of-age comedy-drama, was workshopped and received a table reading with SAG-AFTRA performers at The Lady Filmmakers Film Festival in Beverly Hills, CA. Jenny was interviewed by Sinister Magazine for an article on her horror short, Hair Wraith.
As an actress, Jenny has appeared in a variety of theatre productions. She has performed at Michigan State University, Jewish Ensemble Theatre, HFC Summer Stock, Berkshire Theatre Group, and the Williamson Theatre. Her film work as an actress includes the cult comedy-horror short The Frightened President. It also includes the crime thriller No Maximal Dose. Jenny studied acting at The Atlantic Acting School in New York City, Berkshire Theatre Group in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and comedy and improv at The Second City in Chicago. She hold a BFA in Acting from Ball State University.
Jenny worked in the publicity, marketing, and outreach departments at Michigan State University. She also contributed her marketing and PR skills at the Lake Dillion Theatre Company in Silverthorne, Colorado. She was the full-time Artist Relations Coordinator at Interlochen Center for the Arts in Interlochen, Michigan.
Jenny has taught film production skills at The Community Television Network and Chicago Filmmakers in Chicago. She also taught Arts Management at Michigan State University. She was a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Film and Television Department at Columbia College Chicago from 2021-2023. She also served as a Teaching Artist at The Jewish Ensemble Theatre in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
Jenny is proficient in a variety of film technical areas, including editing and camera operation. Jenny worked full-time at Questar Entertainment in Chicago as a Digital Content Specialist. She edited commercials and promos for Sling, Tubi, Prime, and Vizio and series episodes for GoTraveler. Jenny worked as a video editor at Reggies in Chicago. She edited long-form videos and docuseries using live concert footage, interviews and b-roll. Jenny served as a streaming camera operator and switcher for Reggies Chicago live concerts, including a Jack White concert.
Jenny has an MFA in Film and Television Directing from Columbia College Chicago. She also has an MA in Arts and Cultural Management from Michigan State University. Additionally, she holds a BFA in Acting from Ball State University.
