Twice a year, the jellyFEST celebrates original storytellers and audiences. Our biannual program includes live action, animation, documentary short and feature films showcasing emerging new voices and fresh perspectives. An award show follows the last screening along with an after-party focused on selected music video entries.

JUDGING STATUS DEADLINES

In order for us to properly judge each film, it may take some time for the submissions to be decided. This means that the judgment status on your film usually won't be updated until two weeks after the final submission deadline closes. Although this may seem like a long wait, rest assured it's because we are taking our time and are carefully judging each and every eligible submission.

SCREENINGS & EVENTS

We are a biannual festival, we hold live screenings in front of a LIVE AUDIENCE and selected jury, consisting of film fans and industry personnel. These screenings aim to showcase some of the films submitted, as well as act as the voting process for the Jury Awards.

Generally, the films which are selected as finalists will be amongst those screened at the festival, but the lineup and screening selection may vary.

Semi-finalists will not screen unless otherwise notified. However, they will receive a laurel for promotional use.

The venue may vary. Currently, the events are held in and around Los Angeles, California, but may take place elsewhere in other states. Jury size will also vary depending on the venue. We aim at keeping the events intimate to allow the chance for various filmmakers and other industry personnel to be able to easily meet, network and discuss the screened films.

  • The JellyFEST has been the best experience I've had in the festival circuit as a filmmaker. They were the most helpful and kind staff from the start. There was never a delay with any communication or confusion regarding deliverables or anything for that matter. They managed to curate one of the best, most unique lineups of films seen at any festival. They know what they are looking for and they know how to stitch them all together perfectly. It truly is an art that many festivals do not get right... but JellyFEST nailed it. They paid attention to every single detail, from the programs, to the food and candy provided, all the way to the celebratory confetti at the end. It was so brilliant being part of it and watching their amazing efforts and stlye. They even took all of the music videos, and decided to throw a party at a bar for everyone to watch and dance to. Genius. They are punk rock. Plain and simple. Their festival that is going to change the game and I'm honored to have been part of #2.

  • This festival is everything that an indie director wishes for. Great selection. A variety of different films exhibited in the nicest of settings. And most importantly, the best of communication, beginning to end of the process. Plus you meet great people. Highly recommended.

This festival and its staff are real film lovers and supporters. They were so supportive of my film, with exceptional communication and interest. They understand the colossal effort it takes to make a film of any size and do their best to encourage independent filmmakers as well as run a great festival. I would enter again.
