The script for No Vacancy--Jay's latest short film--was in the Top 10% of projects on Coverfly. No Vacancy was also Jay's directorial debut. No Vacancy is a proof-of-concept, prequel short to The Harlequin (which Jay is currently pitching).

Jay's audiobook (co-written with frequent collaborator, Nathan Scheck), Death of a Bounty Hunter was the #1 book/manuscript on Coverfly in September of 2021. The TV pilot version of No Vacancy achieved three placements in screenwriting competitions as well.

The Harlequin, a feature film Jay is currently pitching, has over four placements in screenwriting competitions. It's a low-budget thriller that explores shame and guilt, but it contains elements specifically included to appeal to a more general audience. Eight strangers converge on a remote motel with nothing but their secrets, and someone has drawn them there for a purpose. When one of them turns up dead, they begin to unravel... and so do their secrets.

Jay Sherer and Nathan Scheck have also published two novels, the aforementioned Death of a Bounty Hunter and the young adult sci-fi action serial, Timeslingers.
