Jassimmrat is 17, and an aspiring director and cinematographer from India. Her first and latest project is a documentary she directed and screen-wrote titled 'Door Nahi Sahil: The success story of Self-Help Groups in Jabalpur.' Currently, she is working towards using the film to raise funds and spread awareness for rural women.
A film and theatre enthusiast, you will often find Jassimmrat analysing the use of colour and symbols in cinema. A passionate advocate for equality, Jassimmrat wishes to create content highlighting disparities in society around gender, sexuality, race and socio-economic class. She hopes her work creates conversations that breach uncomfortable topics that challenge social norms.
Her passion for writing helps her flesh out scripts and understand deeper implications on the screen. She is working towards creating more projects where she can direct and write, while also learning the art of handling the camera.
