Jasmine “Jazz” Liaw is a Hong Kong-American filmmaker and composer. Starting piano and percussion at the age of six, Liaw pays extra attention to soundtracks and sound effects while watching films and adores animated musical films. During her time at the University of Tampa, Liaw had the privilege to serve as the president of Delta Kappa Alpha, the Professional Cinematic Arts Fraternity, and worked at the Film Department Equipment Cage. Liaw had worked on several short films as Producer, Assistant Director, Sound Mixer and more.
As an active musician, Liaw strives to highlight sound in film by working on her own foley and writing her own original score. With a passion for multiple arts, Liaw wrote, composed and produced her original musical as her thesis piece for college. She recently completed a stop motion animated short with an original score!
