Jana started her dance journey in Bürglen TG (CH), where she grew up. Her versatile interest in diverse dance styles brought her to Tanzwerk 101 in Zurich, where she studied contemporary stage dance and street dance. During her studies from 2018-2022 she had participated in various projects. In 2020, she was part of the „Choreographers in Residence“ directed by Luca Signoretti and performed for the first time with singing and dancing in „Never have I ever“ by Muhammed Kaltuk. This piece was performed in 2020-21 at Tanzhaus Zürich, Theater am Gleis Winterthur and Oltener Tanztage.
In 2022 Jana gained three experiences in dance companies: During the Steps Festival she was able to get a taste of Cie La Ronde's production of „8“ as an intern, which premiered in Winterthur, and she was on stage for Need Company with „PIE“. She also performed in Miller Denobili's latest piece „Don't You Dare“ at the Festspielhaus Hellerau in Dresden (DE). There she was challenged not only with dance but also with acting on stage.
In the summer of 2022, Jana choreographically assisted Sonia Rocha at the Zurich Opera House in the student project „#Angels“. In addition
she was allowed to be choreographically active herself with the duet "Skincare". Jana's latest project is the video „seCURE“, where she, together with Zoé Kugler (camera) and Aleksandra Sucur (music), is doing important awareness-work against sexual violence. This piece tells poetically, experimentally and essayistically about four survivors, their feelings and realities after such an experience.
