I hold the Samuel Clark Waugh Distinguished Professor of International Relations in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln & chair of the Department of History. I received my PhD in Intellectual History from the University of Chicago and grew up in Montana.
I have written extensively about colonialism and national liberation movements. I am currently writing a trade book about global national liberation movements.
I have a new feature film, "Seasons of COVID" in production with filming complete and two in development with filming underway. "The Peril of Dissent" and "Before September."
I was elected Senior Associate Member of St Anthony's College, Oxford University in 2002, and through nomination, became a member of the National Press Club in Washington, DC in 2020.
