Jake McCormack is a 16-year-old homeschooled filmmaker and actor from South Australia. He has had a passion for making all genres of short films since early childhood. His interest in filmmaking was expanded when he took a local filmmaking class, which led to him starring in the award-winning short film, The Outside. Jake has since had his work screened all around Australia, with highlights such as being selected for The Very Short Film Festival in 2024 and 2025, coming Runner Up in the Documentary Category at StuffIt Student Film Festival in 2024 and also Runner Up in the Music Video Category in 2025, being selected as a finalist in Adelaide Film Festival Youth in 2024 and winning his category Best South Australian Middle School Film in 2025, winning Best Director at the POV Youth Film Awards, and winning Exemplary Screenplay in the Inspired Students category at Screen It International Film Festival 2025. Jake is known for his films Change - A True Story, Teardrop, Insomnia, and his best work Wrong Time. Jake wants more than anything to be an actor and director when he's older, but he'll see where life takes him.
