Jake Allgeier (she/her) is an award-winning filmmaker based in Colorado and the founder of HMJ Productions. Working primarily in horror, comedy, and genre-blending cinema, her films explore human emotion through inventive storytelling, practical effects, and distinctive visual style.
Her work includes the award-winning short films Doctor Tenn, Bouncer Boots, and Call for a Good Time, which have screened at festivals across the country and earned recognition for their originality and unique voice. Her current project, Ravenous, a psychological horror short set during a 1950s zombie epidemic, was selected as a Semi-Finalist for the 2026 Flatiron Film Project Grant.
In addition to creating her own films, Jake works on productions throughout Colorado in a variety of crew positions and is an active participant in the independent film community through panels, podcasts, and collaborations with fellow filmmakers.
Jake’s long-term goal is to direct feature-length horror films that combine compelling human stories with bold genre filmmaking.
