Jaime Jasso was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and is a Visual Effects Artist with over 25 years of experience in film, video games, and various visual media. He gained recognition for his work on James Cameron's "Avatar," being part of the Oscar-winning team for Best Visual Effects in 2010 as a lead Matte Painting artist. His career has taken him to the world's top studios, from Blur Studio in Los Angeles to being part of the elite Matte Painters team at Industrial Light and Magic, the visual effects division of Lucasfilm.

While at Axis Animation, he developed art for "Alien: Colonial Marines" and "Alien: Isolation." In 2018, he joined Bonfire Studios, creating worlds for video games and collaborated with designers from "World of Warcraft." His first short film as Co-Director, "El Camino," innovated Mexican science fiction cinema, led by actor Gustavo Sánchez Parra, and won an Ariel Award for Best Visual Effects in 2022.
Currently, he is the Director of Visual Development at Tencent Games in Los Angeles, the world's largest video game studio. His passion for cinema continues as he explores his vision as a Director and Writer of his own stories. He just finished his second short film "La Piedra Roja (2024)" a fantastic horror story set during the era of Porfirio Díaz.
