Jade Patrick is a photo and video maker, art curator and gallerist. She earned a B.A. in economics from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN and applies that knowledge to her entrepreneurial endeavors and productions. She helped open Gamut Gallery as the founding director and one of the co-owners in 2012, and shortly thereafter found her passion for filmmaking while creating archival and promotional shorts for the gallery. In 2016 she had her first short go viral, a Bernie Sanders promo video, with more than 100k views in the first day. In 2017 she became a freelance content creator and currently works as Marketing Director for Slam Academy, an electronic music school in Minneapolis.
Synergizing her photography and video practice with her experience as a visual arts curator and gallerist, Jade Patrick has focused her lens on artists, performance and music. She has documented countless art and music events, and created more than a dozen short videos spotlighting artists and their work. Following in that path, her first in-depth documentary "A Life in Opera" (35 min, 2021) celebrates the career of Judith Schubert while exploring the culture of classical music and the intersection of art and politics.
