JR Aristide is an award-winning Haitian-American writer/director from Miami, Fl. His curiosity for storytelling propelled him to probe various themes ranging between identity, social morality, justice, and world religions. JR is inspired by a love for Japanese anime and classical philosophy. A former assistant, JR has also worked on the executive desks of leadership at Lionsgate, and Skydance Paramount.
His recent short film Port of A Prince, has circulated in over 25 festivals with selections at the Oscar-Qualifying: Pan-African Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival, the American Black Film Festival, the Austin Film Festival, and many more.
