In 1989, Jin Jiang was born in Luoyang, Henan Province in China. In 2010, he was introduced to contemporary art which led to his first solo-exhibition “In the Field of Hope” in 2013. The moment of change of his career was in 2015 when he was hired as cinematographer and editor of a film. In 2016, he became an independent filmmaker. Since then, he made three feature-length documentary films Shang’ajia, The Broken Ridge, Republic and a short film One Day. Republic was world premiered at Busan IFF 2023 (winner of Mecenat award of best documentary) and European premiered at 64th Berlinale Forum.
