Originally from Spain, J. L. Cabrera began drawing and writing at an early age, crafting horror stories and illustrating comics that explored a wide range of characters and narratives. Over time, he realized that his characters needed movement to evolve—leading him to the world of filmmaking. This passion sparked his journey into screenwriting, with a focus on psychological horror and suspense.
Driven by storytelling and visual expression, he has since collaborated with friends and creative partners to produce short films that explore complex themes such as identity, inner conflicts, ambition, manipulation, beauty standards and trauma. His work continues to blend atmospheric tension with introspective narratives, offering audiences both emotional depth and psychological intensity.
