Ivan D. Ossa is a 22 year old award winning Film Director, Writer and Actor based in Toronto, Ontario.

After graduating from York University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Film Production, Ivan had an 8 month paid internship with OYA Media group, followed by another paid internship with Merchant Productions. He is now working as a showrunner’s assistant on Director X’s new TV drama Robyn Hood.

Over the last few years, Ivan has participated in a variety of workshops to continue to grow and develop as a filmmaker and had the opportunity to shadow the likes of Tim Godsall (commercial) and Carlton Cuse (TV). These experiences, in addition to his formal education, provided him with the confidence and ability to undertake bigger personal projects and contracted positions. Ivan has written, directed and produced four short films during the course of his studies and continues to work on future films. His short films have received recognition from various domestic and international film festivals in 2020 and 2021.

Throughout my career, I aim to continue writing and depicting humanity. I want to make thought-provoking films that encourage empathy, bring about peace and instil hopefulness and love in viewers. I am a story teller who has been lucky enough to find film as a medium to achieve these artistic, professional and personal goals.
