About Imperfectu

Imperfectu Fest is a dynamic and evolving cinematic event that celebrates the diversity of human expression through film. Originally founded with a focus on gender studies, Imperfectu has expanded its scope to become a comprehensive film festival that embraces a wide range of themes and narratives.

Our Mission

Imperfectu aims to showcase outstanding films from around the world, supporting creativity, promoting cultural exchange, and providing a platform for both established and emerging filmmakers. We strive to create a space where diverse voices can be heard and where cinema serves as a powerful medium for storytelling and social reflection.

What We Offer

Film Showcase: Selected films will be featured on our exclusive video-on-demand platform, providing filmmakers with a global audience and monthly earnings, and viewers with access to exceptional cinema from the comfort of their homes.

Professional Feedback: Every submission to Imperfectu receives a thoughtful review, offering valuable insights and constructive feedback to filmmakers, regardless of selection status.

Our Legacy

Imperfectu was born in Tijuana in 2014, originally focusing on gender studies and film. The festival's name playfully combines "imperfect" and "tú" (you in Spanish), celebrating the beauty of imperfection and inclusivity. While our roots in exploring gender, sexuality, and identity remain an important part of our history, we have expanded our vision to encompass the full spectrum of cinematic art.

Join Us

We invite filmmakers, cinephiles, and storytellers from all backgrounds to be part of the Imperfectu experience. Whether you're submitting a film, attending screenings, or engaging with our online platform, you're contributing to a vibrant community that celebrates the power of cinema to inspire, challenge, and connect us all.

I had a beautiful time in Tijuana with imperfectu. They are doing such important work in such a key location. The program was curated very well, and I'm honored to have been part of their lineup. The organizers are so warm and hospitable, and they really made me feel at home. I left Tijuana with many fond memories, and I hope to be back soon! Thank you very much Imperfectu!
