Imaginaria – International Festival of Authorial Animated Film
Films must have been completed after December 2023.
We accept all categories of animation films: traditional animation, 2d digital, mix media and stop motion, 3d and visual effects, music videos, experimental.
Running time for the short films must be no more then 30 minutes.
Foreign films submitted to the Festival must be subtitled in Italian or English (.srt file).
Those selected for screening during the IMAGINARIA Awards will be notified at least one (1) month before the event starts by e-mail.
Those selected for the screenings will be notified at least thirty (30) days before the event date by e-mail.
If selected you can use the Imaginaria Laurel on your promotional materials.
The works already sent to the previous editions of “Imaginaria” will not be admitted.
IMAGINARIA AWARDs are determined by a jury of professional filmmakers, illustrators, cartoonist, distributors and journalists.
IMAGINARIA AUDIENCE AWARD is determined by audience votes.
The prizes and special mentions for international competition:
– Best Animated Short Film (Main Competition) *
– Best Animated Student Short Film (Graduation Competition)
– Best Animated Short Film for Kids (Children Competition)
– Best Animated Music Video
IMAGINARIA KIDS AWARDS + AUDIENCE SCHOOL AWARD
This awards are determined by a special youngsters jury:
– Best Animated Short Film for Kids
– Audience School Award
Up to 100 shorts films will be selected as finalists in the IAF Awards competition.
The winners will be announced at the Winner’s Day.
*The winner of this category may be selected by the Academy and become part of the five Oscar nominees for Best Animated Short Film.
WHAT TO SEND IF SELECTED
– Digital HD video file (DCP – H.264 (MOV/MP4 1080p).
– SRT file with English or Italian subtitles
You can use a file sharing website (eg Mega, pCloud, Dropbox, Wetransfer, 4shared, etc..)
NOTICE: As part of our mission statement, our organization may refer names and contacts of submitting filmmakers to independent distributors, creative agencies, press and internet companies. Digital files and other related materials, however, remain in the strict possession of the Festival’s archive.
