Iceland Comedy Film Festival is one of the most unique and entertaining Film Festivals in the world. This year, Iceland Comedy Film Festival celebrates it’s 5th year and will run from 23rd. - 25th of September 2022. We are proud to showcase comedy films from all over the world as well as hosting comedy theatre events, stand up, concerts and traditional Icelandic food feasts – all filled with humour and tasty punchlines.

Iceland Comedy Film Festival takes place in the small fishing village of Flateyri, located in the famous Icelandic Westfjords. The Festival takes inspiration from it’s surroundings with outdoor screenings framed by the fjords breathtaking nature as well as screenings in unique spaces such as an old renovated fish oil tank.

The Festival was founded in 2016 by filmmakers Eythor Jovinsson and Arsaell Nielsson as a result of a successful festival run with their own film where common themes on the circuit were doom and gloom in heavy dramas. This absence of fun they experienced at other festivals set them on the path to create their own with the sole purpose to entertain and make people laugh.

A few years on, Iceland Comedy Film Festival has screened a hundred comedy films to thousands of attendees and is here to stay as the funniest festival in the funniest fishing village in the world.
