Ibrida is a festival of intermedial arts which started in 2015 for the purpose of investigating and divulging the most recent productions and research carried on in the field of experimental audiovisual (video art, found footage, metacinema, 2D and 3D animation, etc.). The festival naturally includes performance art and electronic music. Ibrida Festival is curated by Vertov Project.     Ibrida is a shining gem in Italyโ€™s scarce audiovisual experimentation scene. It is an uncompromising, brave, and well-organised event.

    The festival showcases a diverse and rich tapestry of international works, including films, installations, and AV performances, all thoughtfully curated and displayed.

    I had the pleasure of performing my live-film "In Visible Light" there. The festival's promotion was impressive, and communication with the team was always prompt and professional. Despite the challenges caused by the Emilia Romagna flood just a day before the festival, the team worked tirelessly to implement last-minute changes and ensure the show went on as planned.

    Ibrida truly fosters and supports visual experimentation in Italy, providing a valuable platform for artists to connect with other events and expand their networks.

    At this part of my career, I have attended many festivals and the Ibrida Festival worked flawlessly. The festival is run by a dedicated group of video artists who are the kindest people. I highly recommend this festival, particularly for video and media artists from the United States.
