On November 23, 2021, the SKL Association (School Basketball League) officially obtained a licence for Slovenia from FICTS, the world's largest festival of sports documentaries and feature films. The international FICTS festival unites 125 member countries from around the world and takes place in 21 countries, including Slovenia, across five continents. The licence is valid for a period of 10 years and includes exclusive right to organize the sports film festival under the auspices of FICTS and its president Professor Franco Ascani, a member of the IOC Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission. In addition to SKL association, the festival’s partners in Slovenia include the Olympic Committee of Slovenia (OCS), the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB), the Institute and Academy of Multimedia (IAM), and the host city of Rogaška Slatina. The festival will promote cultural and Olympic values under the slogan "Culture Through Sport," learning about the sporting spirit and exploring Olympism.
The International Sports Film Festival in Slovenia (ISFF) will take place in Rogaška Slatina from June 18 to June 20, 2025. The festival's repertoire will include about 35 to 40 feature and documentary films focused on themes of sports and Olympism, as well as international films from entire family of FICTS festivals.
Festival Objectives:
• Promote sports values such as sportsmanship, respect, friendship, loyalty, and team spirit through films.
• Encourage filmmakers to showcase sports-related content.
• Raise awareness about the importance of engaging in sports and physical activity.
• Present sports information to organizations that make decisions in related areas.
• Highlight sports as a tool for connecting people and strengthening social relationships.
• Promote of Slovenian sports and sports tourism at home and abroad.
Awards and Recognitions:
The best films at the festival will receive an award in their category and the right to represent Slovenia at the final FICTS festival, by invitation, in November in Milan. Additionally, the second finalists in individual categories will be awarded with the Pegasus recognition, which is the symbol of Rogaška Slatina.

TV station special competition for Best Sports.
Among all the submitted sports films, the television program editor will select 10 to 15 films and broadcast them in a special ISFF slot. The winner will receive a special TV station award and will also be directly nominated for the FICTS final festival in Milan in November 2025.
