The world’s first international QR-coded film festival
A manifesto of guerrilla cinema. Culture encrypted. Streets reclaimed.
INQRVENTION is not just a film festival — it's a radical intervention.
Born in 2020 in São Paulo, Brazil, INQRVENTION transforms public space into a living screen by embedding art into QR codes and placing them across massive urban murals.
Our mission: to subvert the transactional use of QR codes — typically linked to capitalism and consumerism — by turning them into portals for cinema, videoart, digital and visual art. Each QR is hand-designed and leads to a unique, encrypted audiovisual experience.
🌍 A festival without borders
From the cultural occupation Ocupa 63 in São Paulo to the streets of Rio de Janeiro, from public walls in Valencia, Spain, to long-term installations in Porto, Portugal, from the medinas of Casablanca and Fes, Morocco, to Barcelona’s Filmoteca de Catalunya and the iconic Graffiti Park (Jardins de les Tres Xemeneies) — we’ve taken over walls and minds across continents.
In March 2023, we created a special edition in Lisbon during FEMFEST, showcasing only the works of women, trans, and non-binary artists, bringing gender-diverse voices to the streets of Portugal.
Now, after a year hiatus: we're back and calling MADRID:
Let the next INQRVENTION begin!

We are a fiercely independent festival, currently expanding and seeking collaborations. If you're an institution, gallery, or festival and want to host an INQRVENTION in your city — let’s talk.
– A custom-designed QR code tailored to your film’s identity (no templates, no repetition — each one is a piece of art).
– Street exposure via posterbombs and murals in public spaces across the selected city.
– Recorded audiovisual documentation of your work in the streets (check our IG: @inqrvention).
– An official laurel + exact GPS coordinates of your intervention.
– A certificate of participation in our collective exhibition (in progress).
