Unique in Europe, INDIGEN: DAS NORDAMERIKA FILMFESTIVAL is exclusively dedicated to present films composed, produced and acted by North American Indigenous film makers.
Its purpose is to make these voices and perspectives accessible to an European audience and dismantle established stereotypes.
Our Juries are mainly composed of school and university students who are introduced to these unique stories in specific courses. The entire film festival and its accompanying artistic program is intended as a platform for respectful inter-cultural exchange.

Awards & Prizes

Our awards come in form of unique sculptures done by the local artists Karin Ecker. She works predominantly with clay and creates besides fine pottery outstanding pieces of art. The individual sculptures she creates with a fine aesthetic expression that reflects the specific award. Rules & Terms

As the scope of our film festival is to promote exclusively North American Indigenous Filmmaking, all submitted films have to be composed, directed, acted and produced by North American Indigenous film-artists or in free, prior and informed consent with the respective North American Indigenous community.
