We are Hyper Planet, a Progressive Metal band from Tehran-Iran. Hyper Planet are Amin Saffar on E-Guitar and Armin on Bass Guitar and our father Ali Saffar on Santur/Qanun. We grew up in a musician family and started to play traditional Iranian music; when we were kids, Amin started to play “Santur at 7,” and Armin Started to play “Tombak percussion instrument” at 6. Still, we shifted our instruments at the age of Amin, 17, and Armin, 16, to E-guitar and Bass guitar.

Our debut album is Progressive Metal mixed with traditional Iranian music, and “Beyond The Laniakea” is one of the songs on the album. We want to portray Just a snippet of information about the song, “Lanaikea” is a Hawaiian name, and it’s the observable universe estimated to be home to two trillion galaxies. In this song, we wanted to show how much life is getting expanded through the universe, even much more extensive than we expected before, and giving our listeners to have an experience of life beyond this life, In addition; we’d love to illuminate the diverse topics which are happening “Beyond The Lanaikea” in where our galaxy is just a tiny part at the corner of it and putting them in place for a few moments to think a little bit more about it and also the whole life, if they are overwhelmed and deluged with fear, stress, hardships, obstacles, disappointments, worries, and anxiety.
The most crucial point in this song is that we’d like to show how music could be a powerful tool for spreading peace and love worldwide. Also, we’d like to show that there are a lot of capabilities between Western and Eastern music, mainly in mixing metal with traditional Iranian music. We want to create a new genre, and a fresh perspective by mixing those genres, so Progressive metal is the right place to give us the license.

Talking about inspiration, first off, our writing switch mode is always on, and we try to be inspired by whatever happens around us. We try translating it from musical language and our musical instruments to bring them to life.
We love life and peace. We love living, music, movies, and reading books. We inspire inwardly and outwardly by society, our surroundings, and the critical, pivotal matters that could impact our human life. We always love to push forward ourselves as a person and play better, write better, act better, always have an attitude to moving forward, not being lazy, and doing everything as best as we can on every level. We’d love to surround ourselves with people that have the same philosophy.
