Hygor Balthazar was born in Curitiba, he is 26 years old now and moved from Curitiba to Bahia in 2006. In the audiovisual area, he works as screenwriter, editor, translator and subtitler. In 2021 produced his first two short movies named Cocooned and On Lass’s Grave Street.
His main work is Cocooned, a short movie that shows a glimpse on two brazilian married queer artist intimacy and daily routine cocooned at home. Sharing thoughts and contradictions about life through this pandemic situation with a sensitive performance in the end.
When performing as a drag queen, attends by Maya Panther. His first time in drag queen was in 2018 beside Miss Boana, a famous travesty and drag queen from Bahia who is now his wife and the director on their productions. Hygor Balthazar is also the coordinator of Casa Bubu - House of Resistance and Support to Drag Queen and Travesty Artist in Situation of Abandonment and Intrafamily Violence.
Casa Bubu was founded in 2019 and it’s a collective formed by drag queens and travestys interested in talking about diversity of bodies and genre, deconstruction of stereotypes and stigmas on visibility and forms of expression and existence. Due to the pandemics our activities are now focused on virtual expositions, online presentations and content for social media.
