The HYANNIS FILM FESTIVAL is sponsoring a film festival of shorts for Cape Cod and youth.

There will be two age groups: 12-18, and 19 – 25 yrs.

Categories will include:
narrative
documentary
animated

Winners will have their films screened at the HYANNIS FILM FESTIVAL in October, www.HyannisFilmFestival.

The films must highlight life on Cape Cod and should give a sense of (any of) the following: place, history, habitat, community, and the rewards or challenges of living on Cape Cod.

Awards & Prizes

1. BEST in each category (for both age groups).
2. AUDIENCE AWARD (for both age groups).
3. CASEY SHERMAN STORY AWARD (for both age groups)
4. THE NEW NORMAL AWARD (for both age groups, for films that address how we respond and move forward in the challenging era of social distancing)

Rules & Terms

Films must be approximately 2 – 10 minutes long.
Filmmaker(s) must be a full-time or part-time student(s) from Cape Cod.
Films cannot be a commercial for a local business.
Films cannot be a music video. Although you can make a film that’s a musical!
All music must have music rights properly cleared.

Films must be submitted by September 21, 2020

Top films will be selected by a jury were to be screened at the HYANNIS FILM FESTIVAL in
October, but will be done virtually due to COVID-19 changes.

Filmmakers will be notified of their selection level by September 15, 2020
