Born in Bulgaria in 1980, Hristo Todorov graduated from the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia at the age of 22, with two specialties – Film Analysis and Film Directing.
Later he directed programs for Bulgarian TV channels and several institutional films. Hristo also edited 3 feature movies, 1 TV series, several documentaries and many trailers.
In early 2017, Hristo moved to Paris, where he started making short films as an independent director. At the end of 2025 his short films have the following background: “Après l’incendie” (2025) – 15 selections and 5 awards at festivals, “Embrasse-moi” (2024) – 52 selections and 16 awards, “Le petit contrat” (2020) – 22 selections and 4 awards, “S’il vous plait, Jane” (2018) – 11 selections and 1 award.
Hristo has also been a jury member of the following festivals: La Nuit du Court-Métrage en Haute-Provence 2022 (France), Basilicata International Film Festival 2023 and 2025 (Italy), Hendaia Film Festival 2023 (France), Viterbo Short 2025 (Italy).
