I am an independent filmmaker. Films about children, women and Kurdish people are my concern.
I am Hossein Firouzeh, an independent Kurdish filmmaker. I live in Khorasan province, Iran. I am very interested in making local and Kurdish films because of my work in the field of journalism. Native stories and Kurdish narratives are very attractive to me. In my films, I try to depict the Kurdish people of Khorasan and their stories for the audience.
Some of the films I have made before:
The writer and director of the 13-part series Istade Dar Tarikh for broadcast on Iranian TV.
Writer and director of the movie 9 hours with Hana. This film won the best film of the jury at the Astoria Film Festival. 9 Hours with Hannah also won Best Film at the International Pembroke Taparelli Arts and Film Festival. 9 Hours with Hana entered ten international festivals and was nominated for awards.
The writer and director of the short film Chehlcheragh. This film won the best film award at the 10th Film Festival in Iran. The secretary of this festival is Majid Majidi, a famous Iranian filmmaker.
My new film is a Happy End, which has just been edited, and it deals with the issue of women and the future of children in Iran
