With So Many Horror Genre Festivals Held In Oct and the Winter Months We Know It's Hard To Make Them All. This is Why We Decided To Create Our Festival. We Are Planning Our Festival To Be A "Progressive Venue Type" In Historical Downtown Hattiesburg, MS. Hattiesburg is Known As the "Hub" Because It Lies Between The Gulf Coast, New Orleans, La and Jackson, MS With Airports Surrounding Making It The Perfect Place For Our Festival.

Kim Taylor Fagan Is a Native of Hattiesburg , MS and She Owns KTA Talent Group and DoUFilms. She Is A Talent Agent, Film Director, Writer and Producer and Recently Her Feature Film "F5 Teraphobia" Was A Festival Favorite. Kim Decided To Offer The Community It's First HORROR Genre Film Festival Along With Screening Winners of the "DoUFilm" Online Film Competition Being Included at the Horror in the Heat Festival. Kim's Film Is Soon To Be Distributed and She Wants To Help Other Filmmakers Have The Same Success!

We Plan To Have Industry Guest Such As Casting Director, Agent, Film Director, Producer, Distributor Panels and Many More Guests Such As Celebrity Guests and Photo Opportunities and Hearing Their Journeys to Success in Showbiz.

PLEASE NOTE : LIVE EVENT SUBJECT TO UPDATES ON COVID HOWEVER WE WILL HAVE A VIRTUAL FESTIVAL AS WELL. WE WILL ALSO SUBMIT ALL WINNERS TO OUR DISTRIBUTOR CONTACTS.

Awards are given to all film selections in attendance, as well as several top category awards by our judges. All film submissions are viewed by several distribution partners for possible distribution offers and television play.

Film Entry Rules For "Horror in the Heat" LIVE Screenings:

Film must be considered in the horror genre and have runtime between 1-120 minutes.
Film must be completely edited and in its final completed form.
Film must have been released after January 1, 2016
The film and all submitted content must have global rights to screen at the festival.
Film must not have had any commercial theatrical or television play in the United States.
Films in a language other than English must be subtitled in English.

For "DoUFilms" Online Competition (The Winner Of Each Category Will Be Screened At Our Live Event Horror in the Heat). Follow Same Guidelines But Open To Any Genre.

If your film is selected, a representative of your film is required to attend. It's an honor to make the cut and all accepted films will receive an award and have the opportunity to discuss their film with a great audience and several possible film buyers

No press kits to be submitted in the submission process.

Terms and Conditions
Acceptance and final programming decisions are made by the festival directors.
Film selections will be announced a minimum 45 days prior to the film festival.
If selected, filmmakers will be required to provide a final exhibition DVD or Bluray (and you need to be prepared to use a DCP) we work with vendors who can provide DCP if needed. We will let the selected directors know what requirements are necessary by our screening venue 45 days prior to our festival.
If selected, filmmakers will be required to supply necessary film promotional materials and press information.
Filmmakers may be asked to cooperate in video/editorial interviews, bios, etc for festival content.
We do not pay rental/licensing fees for films screening at the film festival.

By submitting, you grant Horror in the Heat/DoUFilms the right to use all submitted materials including, but not limited to hard copy and electronic media, video footage, trailers, files, photographs, promotional items, etc. at our discretion for the promotional and screening use of the film festival.
