HorrorConUK is the UK’s longest running horror convention, running annually since July 2015 at Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham/Sheffield. In 2026, HorrorConUK will host its 11th edition, and as usual we will be bring special guests, short film screenings, horror vendors, cosplay, exhibits, Q & A's and talks on all things horror!

In previous years, special guests have included such genre icons as Malcolm McDowell, Griffin Dunne, Britt Ekland, Dario Argento, Corey Feldman, Elvira, Sean Pertwee, Tom Savini, Doug Bradley, Lamberto Bava, Claudio Simonetti, Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, David Naughton, Heather Langenkamp, David Warner, Barbara Crampton, Jeffrey Combs, Gunnar Hansen and Kane Hodder.

It is HorrorConUK's desire to present the very best short films from around the world by giving talented filmmakers a platform to showcase their creations. For the fifth year running, HorrorConUK is putting out a call for your film submissions. We are looking for short horror films with a running time of 20 minutes or less, to run alongside our tremendous line up of events!

There will be prizes for the best short film including our unique inscripted glass trophy which will look equally as good on your mantlepiece, as a door stop or paperweight!

1). All entries must be submitted via Private Link for review purposes and then if accepted, will need to submit a digital link for download.

2). All films must be filmmakers original work and owned outright

3). All films must be 20 mins or under

4). Non-English speaking films must be provided with English subtitles

5). All films submitted must be a Horror/ Sci-fi / Fantasy based

  • This a wonderful event that is brilliant run by true horror fans. There are brilliant event, stalls, talks and screenings, plus wonderful actors and personalities from horror culture. Ben who runs the short film screenings is incredibly passionate about supporting independent horror filmmakers.

    Myself and my wife had an amazing time attending the weekend. It's a must-see festival for all horror genre lovers!
