Our inaugural HorrorCase event marks our 2nd ever film festival! Furthering our mission to empower aspiring creators by providing a platform to showcase their talent.

Part of our efforts in enhancing filmmakers' careers is giving opportunities to those who may not yet have the tools to produce one themselves. Judging/Criteria:

Our contest judges have been selected based on their credentials and experience in the film/communications fields. We ensure a fair and honest judging process through a point-based scoring system:

1. Each script will receive a score from 1-10 from every judge.
2. The top 5 screenplays with the highest scores will then advance to an additional round, where they'll be reviewed on a 1–5-point scale.
3. From these top 5, a winner will be chosen based on overall point totals from the additional round only.

Judging will be based off:
1. Story/Concept
2. Originality
3. Plot Structure
4. Style/Tone
5. Pacing
6. Characters
7. Dialogue
8. Theme
9. Content Appropriateness (See Content Standards below)
10. Production/budget: Ability to produce the screenplay on a microbudget (>$500)
a. Judges will evaluate the script's potential to be produced as a compelling short film within a constrained budget, focusing on concepts that are logistically feasible for under $500. It’s important to note that while feasibility is a key consideration, the primary focus remains on the script's creative strength, originality, and overall storytelling excellence as outlined in the other judging criteria.

Prize/Announcement:
The top 5 finalists will be announced on September 15th, 2025. This will be followed by the official announcement of the winning screenplay on September 17th, 2025.
