Horacio Torruco Sifuentes (Mexico, 1993) is a filmmaker and photographer. He studied Visual Arts for Photographic Expression at the University of Guadalajara (2020) and specialized in experimental cinema through the FAC Film Laboratory, Uruguay (2024), complementing his training with courses in 16mm shooting and developing (FILMLAV, Madrid, 2025) and botanical developing (Strangloscope, 2024).
His practice explores everyday light through analog formats such as Super-8mm and 16mm, recording luminous transformations of landscape as reflections on memory and temporality. His short film Lake Garden (2025, Super-8mm) has been exhibited internationally at festivals including FICUNAM (Mexico), Festival Inflamável (Brazil), l'Alternativa (Spain), Granada Film Festival (Spain), and Mientras Tanto (Uruguay).
Since 2023, he has developed curatorial projects for experimental cinema including By Lantern Light and Latitudes. His expanded cinema performances have been presented in venues across Mexico, Uruguay, and Germany. His work is part of Vol. 1 of the Jalisco Video Archive at the Museo de Arte de Zapopan (2024). Co-founder of Estudios Anticuarios and member of the Departamento de Visuales.
