Hermes Fomutar, a filmmaker who speaks and writes many languages including Spanish, French and English was born in 1981 in Cameroon. He is the founder of Hermo Talent Management Pro (HTM Pro). HTM Pro is a film production and talent management company in Africa.
Most of his childhood was spent in Mamfe, in the S.W Region of Cameroon, where he had early signs of interest in Film and Theatre at St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Mamfe. His secondary school studies were at Sacred Heart College Mankon, Cameroon, where, participating in the music group of the performance of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR DREAMCOAT fueled his interest in the performing arts. His advance level studies in the arts where done in Lycée de Kumbo and Lycée de Jakiri in the North West of Cameroon where he got his Advanced level certificate in the arts and where he was a leading actor in school drama performances and clubs.
His 1st degree (B.A) at the University of Yaounde Cameroon was in languages in the Department of Modern Languages. Further studies of Masters Degrees (in Theatre Arts, Media, Communication and Film studies as well as Education) and Ph.D (uncompleted) His graduate teaching assistant experiences were in the University of Jos, Nigeria, Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, South America and the University of Windsor, Canada.
Besides his experiences of production, directing, script writing, communication and education, Hermes has taught English, French, Spanish, in Cameroon, Nigeria, Colombia in South America and Canada.
Hermes Fomutar is a script writer, director and executive producer with a passion for producing educational films and films for human rights & community development. He has produced 10 African films so far, 6 of which have won awards “HOLIDAYS”, “CANDLE IN THE WIND”, “SECOND WIND”, “NEVER ENOUGH” “PRINCESS BESSEM and “RACK”. 5 of the films are on FilmFreeway recording 50+ international 'Official Selections' and 26 international awards won, as at September 2023.
Hermes lives in Windsor, Ontario, Canada where he works on films and in the truck transport sector.
