Harry Besel, born November 21, 1991 in Ajdabul, Kazakhstan, is studying Visual Communication with a focus on Film at the Kunsthochschule Kassel from 2015 to 2023.
In 2019 Besel shot the experimental film "Kugelmensch", which was selected for the Hessen Talents and screened at the Berlinale 2020. Furthermore, "Kugelmensch" was nominated for the "Golden Hercules" at the Kassel Dokfest 2019 and won an award at the Polish "On Art Film Festival 2019".
In 2023, he completed his short feature film "GRENZER" and is now preparing its festival exploitation. Currently Besel is working on his next historical drama short film "Risen from Ruins", which deals with the difficult living conditions in the post-socialist East of the former GDR and Soviet Union.
