Hamideh Motavalizadeh (b. 1997) is an Iranian filmmaker and artist with an MA in Cinema. Her work explores visual storytelling across a range of cinematic forms, including animation, with a focus on symbolism, psychological space, and constructed realities.
She is the author of a forthcoming book examining the concept of the “pro-filmic event” in the cinema of Tim Burton.
Her second short film, Scream (2026), is a stop-motion animation currently completing its international festival run.
Her debut short film, The Cage (2024), has been selected by multiple international film festivals and received awards.
She is currently developing her first feature film, a live-action narrative project in early development, focused on securing production partners and funding.
